Creating a disaster prevention map for the Fukui area Niseko Town
As part of the "Monsuke Lab" collaborative project between Hokkai-Gakuen University and HBC (Hokkaido Broadcasting System) and the comprehensive research of the Hokkai-Gakuen University Research and Development Institute, we created a disaster prevention map for the Fukui area of Niseko Town.
In July 2024, a workshop to create a disaster prevention map was held and information to be included on the map was collected through fieldwork. Participants in the workshop included Niseko Town Fukui District Friendship Association, Niseko Town Student Community Planning Committee, HBC, Hokkai-Gakuen University (faculty, students, and graduate students), and Niseko Town (General Affairs Division and Board of Education).
As a result, the "Niseko Town Contact Map [Fukui / Disaster Prevention Edition]" and the "Niseko Town Contact Map [Fukui / Attraction Edition]" were compiled and published, and distributed in the Fukui area in March 2025. They are also being made public on a website using the geographic information system (GIS) application "Story Map."
