School Bus Service

Operation details (route, time etc.)

Niseko Town operates a school bus service to help students who live far from school commute to our municipal schools. This service is available to all students residing in Niseko Town who live beyond walking distance.

Important Information

 The safety of our students is the top priority of the school bus service. The local operator works to maintain safe and reliable daily operations. To help ensure a stable and secure service, we kindly ask for your cooperation with the following points.

[Responding to an infectious disease outbreak]
In order to prevent the spread of infection, please make sure to follow these rules when an infectious disease is prevalent in the Niseko area.
●If you have symptoms such as coughing, please wear a mask when using the bus.
●If possible, please refrain from talking when using the bus.
  1. Please use the designated bus stops when getting on and off the bus. We ask for your understanding that there may not always be a stop close to your residence.
  2. Please refrain from speaking loudly or moving around while on the bus. The route is planned to keep commuting time as short as possible.
  3. Depending on the weather and road conditions, the bus may be delayed or cancelled. In the event of a cancellation, we will notify students and their parents or guardians.
  4. It is possible to use the bus for commuting outside Niseko Town. However, as local routes are given priority, direct connections to JR lines and other services may not always be available.
  5. Depending on the school and changing road conditions, the schedule may be revised during the school year. In such cases, a separate announcement will be made.
  6. In addition to this, in order to prevent accidents and troubles, we ask the parents to give appropriate guidance to the students about the way of getting on and off and on the way of getting on and off like regular public transportation.

The final bus after school operates according to a two-season timetable.

Please note that during long school holidays, the bus will not operate. (Summer schedule: April–November; Winter schedule: December–March.)

 Important Notice
 
・From 7 October 2025 to the end of March 2026, the last school bus will run according to the winter schedule(17:30)
 
 As public transportation in Niseko Town is limited, the school bus may also be used free of charge by non-students under the following conditions.
 
  1. The bus operates from Monday to Friday every week. The bus will not operate when school is closed (Holiday, Saturday, Sunday, National holiday, temporary closure etc.)
  2. The bus will not operate if there are no passengers waiting at the first school bus stop. (Morning buses will still run as scheduled.)
  3. If all passengers got of the bus when coming from school, the bus will not continue to its final destination.
  4. The departure time of the final bus varies by season. Summer schedule: April–November, Winter schedule: December–March
  5. You may only board and disembark at designated stops for school bus.
  6. The bus schedule and route are subject to change without notice depending on the situation of the students.
  7. Please refrain from using the bus for sightseeing purposes, embarking with a large group of people, or any other behavior that may interfere with the operation of the school bus.
