Policy 3 Give peace of mind by supporting families and the local area. (4)

(4) Build a town where everyone can interact without lingering and live together

Current situation and issues

(1) Promotion of community welfare activities

In order to realize the town where elderly people and people with disabilities can live with peace of mind, it is impossible to provide welfare services by the administration alone.
Therefore, it is required to promote volunteer activities and to strengthen the organization of social welfare councils as promotion organization of community welfare, to vitalize its activities, and to promote welfare activities together with the region.

(2) Understanding and interaction with people with disabilities

Understanding of disabled people of local residents and establishing normalization in the actual living situation are not sufficient.
Therefore, in order to deepen understanding and perception about people with disabilities, we aim to disseminate awareness about the way of normalization. Furthermore, we strive to expand daily opportunities for local residents and people with disabilities to promote barrier-free so that people with disabilities can live a pleasant life.

Direction of future efforts

(1) Promotion of welfare activities in regional welfare

We will support welfare activities rooted in the community through extensive participation of local residents.
For this reason, we will proactively cooperate and support the residents and volunteer activities group etc.

(2) Improvement of barrier-free and welfare consciousness

We promote welfare education through public learning opportunities such as school education, social education and home education, and promote public relations activities, and strive to establish understanding and normalization about elderly people and persons with disabilities.
In addition, since welfare education needs to be carried out through opportunities of actual exchanges and interactions as soon as possible, we will endeavor to expand opportunities for interaction between elementary and junior high school students and the elderly and disabled.
