FY 2024

[First Session] July 13th (Sat) - Creating a Disaster Prevention Map for the Fukui Area

The first town planning committee meeting of fiscal year 2025 was held. This time, we created a disaster prevention map for the Fukui district together with members of the Fukui District Friendship Association, HBC, and Hokkai Gakuen University.
We split into two groups, one for Fukui and the other for Soma, to conduct fieldwork. After lunch, we further divided into four groups—a disaster prevention team and a charm-focused team—in each area to create maps.
I was able to go to places I normally wouldn't be able to go to and hear things I normally wouldn't be able to hear, so it was a very valuable experience.

[Second Session] Held on August 5th (Sat) - Let's think about "What kind of playground/learning space would we like?" -

The second meeting of the town planning committee was held.
This time, we asked the town planning committee members to think about what kind of playgrounds and learning spaces they would like to see, and compiled their ideas on large sheets of paper for each theme. In addition, we had team-building activities using LEGOs to help everyone get to know each other better, a presentation on playgrounds outside of town by students from Keio University, a talk about trees and forests by Mr. Kiyobe from Niseko Yukimori Kosha Co., Ltd., and a wooden spoon-making activity.
Although it was a short time, it was great because I was able to have a lot of fun and experience a variety of things.

[3rd Session] August 31st (Sat) - Let's build the city of the future using Minecraft!

The third meeting of the town planning committee was held.
This time, we used Minecraft to develop the area around Niseko Station.
In the morning, we experienced the future (generative AI, next-generation mobility) together with members of the Yamagata Laboratory at Keio University, and brainstormed and presented ideas for what we would actually build in Minecraft.
In the afternoon, each group created and presented their own vision of the future Niseko Town using Minecraft.
Even the adults were impressed by the way all the committee members thought hard and steadily built the town on their own.
Listening carefully to the presentations by the Keio University students and seeing how they were concentrating on building a town together with their friends in Minecraft, became one of the reasons I became interested in the Niseko Town.
