[First Session] October 1st (Sat) - Site visit to the construction site of the Hokkaido Shinkansen Urauchi Tunnel (Horonai) -
For our first activity, we visited the JV office to learn about the Hokkaido Shinkansen, which is currently under construction. We learned about the outline of the Shinkansen construction and answered a Shinkansen quiz, and then we were allowed to visit the Urauchi Tunnel (Horonai) site to see how the Shinkansen tunnel is actually being dug.
[Second Session] Held on Thursday, November 24th - A vision of the future of Niseko Town in 2030 (planned) when the Shinkansen line opens.
The second session involved learning and a workshop on a projected future for Niseko Town in 2030 (planned), when the Shinkansen bullet train line is scheduled to open. Reflecting on our activities so far, we shared and exchanged opinions on what we hoped for and what we were concerned about regarding the Shinkansen, and each of us summarized our thoughts.
