FY 2010
[First Session] Held on August 29th (Sunday)
[2nd Session] Let's make energy! (Held on Sunday, October 31st)
First, we learned about the research and experiments on natural energy sources such as hydropower and snow that Niseko Town is undertaking. Afterwards, we visited a micro-hydropower facility currently being tested in the town and learned about the mechanism of power generation.
[3rd Session] Held on Wednesday, January 12th: Thoughts on Niseko today, its pride and treasures, and vision for the future.
In this committee meeting, we split into two groups and held a workshop to discuss the good and bad points of Niseko, and our vision for the future of Niseko.
The committee members offered a range of opinions, from personal requests such as "We want more playground equipment" to more personal ones like "Niseko is proud of its abundant nature and powder snow," "Let's make it a clean town with no litter," and "We want to find the good points of our town, share them, and become a town that can connect with people from other towns and around the world."
At the end of the committee meeting, we summarized and presented the points we had discussed in our groups.

[4th Meeting] Held on Saturday, February 19th ≪Open to the Public≫ Children's Community Development Committee
The fourth committee meeting was held as part of Niseko Town Basic Ordinance for Town Development 10th Anniversary Symposium program. You can also watch the proceedings on the town's official Ustream website. For more details, please see the "Community Development Basic Ordinance" page.
[5th Session] Let's create a story about community development in Niseko, held on Wednesday, March 30th.
In this committee meeting, based on the third workshop, we split into two groups and tackled the challenge of "creating a story about community development in Niseko Town."
In creating the story, we all brainstormed keywords for each of the four main parts of a story—introduction, development, climax, and conclusion—to connect the narratives. Group A created a story about the encounter between a foreign boy and the children of Niseko, using the themes of "the amount of littering" and "the deliciousness of school lunches in Niseko." Group B created a fantasy story about skiers entering the animal world, using the themes of "good snow quality and famous skiing" and "rich nature and abundant animals."
Through their unique perspective on Niseko and their free-spirited ideas, they created a truly enjoyable work. Laughter could be heard throughout the finished story.
