FY 2008

Activity Theme: The Light and Shadow of Niseko's Environment ~Beautiful Niseko and Niseko Polluted with Garbage~

At the 2008 Small and Junior High School Community Development Committee, the theme of Niseko's "environment" was reconfirmed and the Niseko Town's scenic beauty was re-examined. And participate in community development through educational activities for prevention.

[First Session] Held on Friday, August 8th

In the first session, we received a lecture from Mr. Sato, the head of the Environmental Section of the Town Hall's Community Learning Division, and then took a gondola to the 1,000m plateau observation deck to reaffirm the beauty of Niseko.
Afterward, we visited sites where littering is rampant and final disposal sites, giving us a firsthand look at how polluted Niseko is with garbage.
I will put this sentiment into the sign-making and newspaper production from the second time onward, and I will do my best to protect the beautiful Niseko.

[Second Session] Held on Tuesday, September 23rd - Creating signs to prevent littering in collaboration with the Children's Council -

In the second session, we collaborated with the Children's Council to create signs to prevent littering.
The completed signboard will be set up along the town road Yotei Kondo contact line, which has a lot of garbage littering.
【Original plan thought by all participants】

All of the works are wonderful, and they contain messages filled with the feelings of the children of Niseko.
Everyone wishes that garbage litter will be gone and clean Niseko will be protected.

I installed a signboard.

The sign produced in the second round was installed along the town road connecting Yotei and Kondo, an area where littering is very common.
This reflects the children's desire to prevent littering.

[3rd Session] November 8th (Sat) - Creating a Newspaper to Raise Awareness of Littering Prevention -

For the third session, we created a newspaper as a culmination of our activities for this academic year.
Through our activities so far, we have put into words our thoughts on littering and illegal dumping, and our feelings that we want to convey to everyone, and posted them together with the photos taken during our first trip.
The completed newspaper is scheduled to be circulated in the town by administrative promoter distribution. Also, members who could not participate on the day will also post a message.

The newspaper was completed.

The newspaper was completed, including messages from committee members who were unable to attend the third meeting.
The newspaper, which contains children's hopes for preventing littering, will be circulated throughout the town.
