FY 2020

[First Session] August 13th (Thursday) - A Stroll Through the History of Niseko Town and the Area Around Niseko Station -

In 2020 the theme of our activities will be "Comparing Niseko's past and present! - Trivia you can brag about to everyone."
The purpose is to unearth the history of the town, which will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2021.
In the first session, I took a walk around Niseko Station Niseko Town and learned how it changed. In front of the old station, there were many shops and I could feel the flow of history.
Our next activity will involve learning about the Hokkaido Shinkansen, which will pass through Niseko Town, and visiting an actual excavation site.

[Second Session] Held on Thursday, October 29th - Pre-learning before visiting the Hokkaido Shinkansen tunnels -

The second time around, we acquired some background knowledge before visiting the Hokkaido Shinkansen. We learned about things like how fast it travels and where in Niseko Town it passes through.
I am pondering the questions in preparation for my next visit.

[3rd Event] November 7th (Sat) - Tour of the Hokkaido Shinkansen Tunnel Construction Site

Our third activity was a long-awaited visit to the Hokkaido Shinkansen tunnel.
First, after hearing an overview at the office, he showed us the Konbu Tunnel Miyata Construction Zone, which is being excavated in Miyata Niseko Town
Although the committee members were overwhelmed by the large heavy machinery, they were able to actively ask the questions they had prepared in advance.
We would like to thank all of the Railway Transportation Organization Niseko Railway Construction and Kajima JV for their support.

[4th Session] Held on January 14th (Thursday) - Summary of Experiential Learning and Activities -

This will be the last meeting of the elementary and junior high school student town planning committee this academic year.
This time, we focused on discovering the charms of Niseko Town through experiential learning and summarizing our activities.
I made a sandblasted glass at "Glass Gallery Dome" in Soga Niseko Town, and created a one-of-a-kind glass that is uniquely my own.
We moved to the central warehouse to review the past year.
I hope you will share the knowledge and insights you gained from your activities over the past year with your friends.
