FY 2023

[First Session] August 4th (Fri) - Workshop on the 6th Niseko Town Comprehensive Plan

The first session was a workshop on the 6th Niseko Town Comprehensive Plan, titled "Things we want to change and things we want to keep preserved for Niseko Town in 2012."
The group was divided into three teams, A, B, and C, and each team discussed and summarized their ideas on large sheets of paper before presenting them. A common theme was the frequent mention of facilities in public buildings, with many specifically stating the need for air conditioning due to the recent extreme heat.

[2nd Event] Held on Saturday, October 14th - Let's discover key disaster prevention spots while walking through the city streets in a "Disaster Prevention Walk"!

For the second event, Niseko Town, HBC, and Hokkai Gakuen University collaborated to conduct a disaster preparedness walk through Niseko, creating a map of key disaster prevention spots. After receiving an overview of the disaster preparedness walk, participants toured the room in the town hall's basement where disaster preparedness supplies are stored, and participated in smoke and fire extinguishing experiences with the cooperation of the Niseko Fire Department. They also learned about the roles of various facilities, such as Yoji Centre and schools, in the event of a disaster, and took part in quizzes together with the university students!
Finally, we used large sheets of paper to write down the photos we took today, what we learned, and what we found appealing, completing our disaster prevention map.
