FY 2012

[First Session] Held on Saturday, October 20th: Greenhouse tomato harvesting experience, brainstorming ideas for Niseko's local ingredients and souvenirs, and more.

This time, the committee participated in a harvesting experience at the greenhouse of Masataka Takeuchi, who has been farming for many years in the Kondo district of Niseko Town. We heard about how he tries different cultivation methods in each greenhouse and how he is researching the best way to produce delicious produce.
Afterward, we toured the micro-hydroelectric generator, which has been in operation since fiscal year 2010, and explored the town hall.
In the afternoon, we split into two groups to discuss and present ideas for local ingredients and souvenirs that could be made using them in Niseko Town. We plan to discuss the detailed menu at the next committee meeting.
Please see the following documents for details about the result of the event.

[2nd Session] Held on December 2nd (Sunday): Wiener making experience, brainstorming ideas for Niseko-style menu items.

At this committee meeting, we held a sausage-making experience at the home of Mr. Hiroshi Muragishi, who runs a restaurant in the Kondo district of Niseko Town. The process involved a total of 21 steps, and everyone worked through it with some difficulty. After the work was done, we tasted the sausages and many people commented that they tasted different from the sausages they usually eat and were delicious.
In the afternoon, we split into two groups with the four members of "Jugobaa" to discuss ideas for menus that are uniquely Niseko. We plan to actually create prototypes at the next committee meeting.
Please see the following documents for details about the result of the event.

[3rd Session] January 19th (Sat) - Prototype creation of souvenirs typical of Niseko

This committee conducted trial production of cookies, puddings, and steamed buns using seasonal pumpkins (winter solstice pumpkins) as souvenirs that are typical of Niseko.
For details on the event results and recipes, please see the document below.

[4th Meeting] Held on Thursday, March 28th: Impressions of committee activities and things we'd like to do in the future.
