Self-introduction
I'm Lai Peiru from China, and my nickname is Pei Pei. In Chinese, my name 頼・佩汝 (Lai Peiru), means "be a girl like water, live flexible and free."
I've loved watching Japanese dramas and anime since I was in elementary school, and I wanted to be able to speak that wonderful language, and to be able to understand it without subtitles, so I chose Japanese as my major at university. As I continued to study Japanese, I realized that I wanted to convey the charm of Japan to others, and decided to work as a bridge between Japan and China. In order to realize that aspiration, I applied to be a Coordinator for International Relations and arrived in Niseko Town!
During my time in Niseko Town, what I'm most looking forward to is holding a traditional costume event. I brought Chinese dresses and Hanfu from China with me, because I think that many people would be able to deepen their understanding of other cultures by wearing the traditional costumes of other countries! If you are interested in cultural exchange be sure to join us!

Where I'm From:
I come from Henan Province, China. Henan Province is located in the central-eastern part of China and is named "Henan" (South of the River) because most of the province lies south of the Yellow River. More than 1,500 of the surnames of Chinese people are said to have their origins here, and it is an area that can be said to be the roots of the Chinese nation. Anyang, Luoyang and Kaifeng are major historical and cultural cities, rich in ancient economic prosperity and glorious cultural relics.
Henan's famous cuisine is called "Water Banquet". Because it is an arid region, it is a course meal with soup as the main dish, created for the purpose of hydration. Among light meals, "Hulatang'' (a salty, sour, and spicy soup containing peanuts, shiitake mushrooms and beef) is well known. In addition, “Xinyang Maojian Tea”, one of the top ten famous teas in China, and “Luoyang Dukang Wine”, which has a history of more than 2,000 years, are also very popular as souvenirs.
Henan has four distinct seasons, and spring and autumn are refreshing, making it a good season for traveling. Please come and visit us someday!
