Outline of Heisei 23 year project

Last year we found out that there is a large amount of snow, especially about snow and ice fever, as a result of research on viable energy availability, available capacity survey and demonstration experiments in "Green Decentralization Reform" Promotion Project. Towards the concrete commercialization in the future, with the aim of utilization and commercialization of regional resources, creation of gimmicks to raise the regional circulation and model construction, with regard to natural energy resources that can be used considering the balance between supply and demand, It is necessary to grasp the data in more detail and to clarify specific aspects of the environment / system and the structure of commercialization. 1. Basic survey

Four review projects

Niseko Town is a land rich in the world's abundant snow and the water resources flowing from the snow-capped mountains. To take advantage of these, the following projects are assumed in the study of this project.

1) A study of a new regional industrial core centered on resort-type IT offices and white data centers

In Niseko with abundant natural environment, the optical fiber network has been in place since early, and for IT companies etc. who choose not to work at any place, they have location requirements as attractive resort offices. Also, plenty of snow can be used as a huge cold source in the summer by insulation coating. Therefore, we will investigate the construction of the data center which needs to cool it by issuing big fever with the resort office such as IT company and call center which used snow cooling, including utilization of existing facilities. Also, during the winter, waste heat from the data center can be used as a heating source for the office and the area. Simulate the scale of the facility and necessary calorific value, and consider the formation of a new type of industrial core focusing on the circulation of thermal energy in the area, the economic ripple effect on the area by the project, the employment creation effect etc.

2) Consideration of large-scale food stockpiling project utilizing snow and ice

As a food supply base in Japan, Hokkaido, we will promote the "large-scale food stockpiling project" in the production area in order to ensure stable supply of safe and secure crops, to improve the profitability of agriculture, which is the core industry of Honcho. Considering the recent domestic electric power business, we use snow and ice, which is a renewable energy unique to the area as a source of cold energy, but there is no track record of utilizing snow and ice as a large-scale food storage warehouse nationwide. For this reason, we will formulate a business model in this project, ask the opinions of academics and experts and experts, and consider measures to solve technical and cost issues and solve them.

3) Examination and field trial of snow and ice thermal energy local production area elimination project

As a demand for cooling demand, which is growing in recent years, we will develop a local production site disappearing project that utilizes the snow and ice cold heat rich in the area. Specifically, we will prepare a "snow ice unit" using steel containers for agricultural crops in winter and develop business to provide this to cold heat demand facilities. As a demonstration experiment, we will use a snowy mountain preserved insulation covering, create a snow ice unit to be used at a farmhouse warehouse, measure temperature and humidity, and examine efficiency and economy. We will examine the feasibility of projects that create, provide and operate snow and ice units.

4) Consideration for Small Hydropower Project

The electric power obtained by hydroelectric power generation is thought to be sold to the region and urban areas, but the possibility of being available in the data center etc. is also examined.
