Introduction of car sharing services
Niseko Town is collaborating with Times Mobility Co., Ltd., a car sharing service company operating nationwide.
A car sharing demonstration experiment has been conducted in the town since 2023.
From 2024, the bus will be deployed to JR Niseko Station and Niseko Town Center during the winter.
It is available for use all year round.
Available all year round from April 2025 to March 2026!!
・ Niseko Town Center: 1 space
・JR Niseko Station: 1 unit
*The number of parking spaces may be increased depending on usage during peak tourist seasons, etc.
<Opinions received from the 2024 survey>
・My parents gave up their driver's licenses and don't have a car at home, so this has become a necessity when I go back home. It's convenient to be able to use it in the winter too.
・It was very comfortable.
・It was very cheap, so I hope they keep it there all year round! It was helpful that the shovels and other snow removal tools were installed in the car! I think it would be good to put stickers such as "No smoking" in an easy-to-find place. I think it would be good to have instructions in other languages.

What is a car sharing service?
“Car sharing” is a service in which registered members share a car. You can use it 24 hours a day, and you can rent a car for a short period of time, which is cheaper than a rental car. can.
Reasons for introduction (demonstration project)
The shift from individual "ownership" to joint "sharing" through initiatives for sharing services, including car sharing, is not only a way to reduce environmental impact, but also a way to make effective use of limited resources and create connections with communities. It is one of the things that are expected to lead to the realization of sustainable regional development as something that leads to formation.
On the other hand, the popularization and utilization of this technology is currently concentrated in urban areas, and the challenge is to spread it to rural areas.
Therefore, we will conduct a demonstration project to grasp and verify the effectiveness, issues, and problems of the car sharing service in Niseko Town, and to consider sustainable regional development through future sharing services.
