Revision of the Child Allowance System (from October 2024)

Starting from October 2024 payments (to be paid in December), the Child Allowance Act has been revised to expand the system.
In some cases, an application is required in order to receive the allowance.

Those who are deemed eligible will be notified by October, but if you have not received the notification, please contact Niseko Town Hall Health & Welfare Division.

Those who need to apply

● Those who are not currently receiving the allowance and are raising only children of high school age
● Those whose eligibility has ended because their income exceeded the limit

Required document:
・Application for Child Allowance Certification
Attachments:
・Copies of the applicant’s (guardian’s) and spouse’s health insurance cards
・Documents showing the My Number of the applicant and spouse
・Copy of the applicant's bankbook
Please bring your personal seal (hanko)

● Those who are currently receiving the allowance and also have an older child of high school age
Required documents:
・Application for Child Allowance Amount Revision
・Statement of Custody for Child Living Separately (if any child up to high school age lives apart)
*If you are raising an older child aged 18 to 22 in addition to the eligible child, you may also need to submit a "Confirmation of Custody and Living Expenses Form."
Example: Families raising children aged 10, 12, and 19
Families raising children aged 15, 19, and 22

*No application is required if you are currently receiving the allowance and do not have a child of high school age.
*If the recipient (the parent with higher income) is a public servant, please contact your workplace.
