Ozaki Kazuo Railroad photo exhibition "Pass"

Ozaki Kazuo Railroad photo exhibition "Pass"

Kazuo Osaki (living in Shintoku-cho, Hokkaido) serves as a railway engineer in Shintokui agency district and has a hunkachi pass which is said to be the hardest place in Hokkaido until it is switched to the new line from the Meiji period to 1966 I have been on the various routes in the Tokachi Line such as former Nemuro Main Line. Beside that, I am pursuing and recording the appearance of a steam locomotive that was destined to fade away, pursued by the modernization of the power of the railway in various areas of Hokkaido, and presents it at a photo collection and solo exhibition. In Osaki's work, in addition to being an engineer's point of view, such as the severity of the standing environment, attention is attached also to people who use railroads as means of attaching to railroads and Katsukenkago, and means of living I will.

In recent years, the reappraisal and preservation of "railway heritage" has been highlighted in various parts of Japan. Niseko Town has railway heritage sites such as the former Shintoku Engine Zone Turntable and the Simple Track Track. In addition, the Hakodate Main Line “Yama Line” (between Nagamanbe and Otaru), which crosses the town, was constructed in the Meiji period as a major trunk line connecting Honshu, Hokkaido south and Hokkaido north, and has a history that supported the development of Hokkaido. doing. This "mountain line" penetrated the mountainous area as the name suggests, and it was a difficult place dotted with hills such as Otamoi, Inaho, Kutchan and Meina. The name of `` Niseko '' is from the `` Express Niseko '' led by the C62 type steam locomotive heavy train that challenged these passes and attracted people, and the `` C62 Niseko '' which revived for seven years from 1988 Maybe it is remembered in the hearts of many railway fans.
Shintoku-cho, a railway town with the Shintoku institution ward where Osaki lived and belonged, and Niseko Town have a common term called "pass" of the railway line, and at the same time, "the old Shintoku institution There is connection with "thing" called ward turntable.

In this exhibition, from the pictures taken by Kazuo Osaki, carefully selected works with "Pass" as a key word. C62 dubbing "express train Niseko" running on the Hakodate main line "mountain line", ordinary train of D51 towing, scenes of acceptance of a casual tablet, a view of Katsukatsu Pass old railway line, climbing a steep slope while panting, former New Organization We will present valuable works as a record at the time, such as luggage chassis.

As a result of this exhibition, I hope that the existence of the railway heritage of our town is widely known, and that cooperation with the Tokachi Pass old railway line and the railway heritage of the Tokachi area will expand.

"Former Shinkansen organization liner chassis", "Genre orbit trace"

"Old Shintoken organization luggage chassis" was used in 1957 in the former Shintokui agency district where many locomotives for climbing the steep slope of Katsukencho Pass said to be the hardest place in Hokkaido was used since 1957, And the logistics of the middle was supported behind the scenes. It was relocated to our town in preparation for extended operation of Niseko in "C62 Niseko issue" in 1990 after the abolition of the same district, but since 1995 after the end of the operation of the train, I have fallen asleep. In addition, the road along this truck stand is a locust orbit trace that we connected our town and Makkari village until the late 1950s.
