Project to utilize special subsidies for local revitalization to support price hikes

What is the Special Regional Revitalization Grant for Priority Support in Response to Price Rise?

This is a subsidy provided by the national government to cover the expenses borne by local governments for projects based on implementation plans prepared by local governments.
The Temporary Grants for Priority Support for Local Governments in Response to Soaring Prices (Priority Support Local Governments) were established in November as a response to the "Comprehensive Economic Measures to End Deflation Completely (2023 decided by the Cabinet on November 2)," in order to support local governments in their efforts to create local communities through supporting consumers and businesses affected by the soaring prices of energy and food products. The program was established in November 2023 to enable local governments to implement necessary projects in a detailed manner according to local conditions.
In addition to the "recommended business menu," a "low-income household support framework" was created to provide support to low-income households. In December 2023, the "integrated grant/fixed-amount tax reduction support framework" and the "grant support service utilization framework" were created to accommodate the "support for low-income earners and benefits supplementing fixed-amount tax reductions," which were finalized in conjunction with the ruling party's compilation of the fiscal 2024 tax reform outline.
