COVID-19 Regional Revitalization Temporary Grant Utilization Project
What is COVID-19 Response Regional Revitalization Temporary Grant?
This is a subsidy provided by the national government to cover the expenses borne by local governments for projects based on implementation plans prepared by local governments.
The purpose of this initiative is to prevent the spread of COVID-19, support local economies and the lives of residents affected by the spread of the infection, respond to business continuity and employment maintenance, including rent support, revitalize local economies based on "new lifestyles," realize a shift in the economic structure and a virtuous cycle toward the post-COVID era, resume socio-economic activities, thoroughly manage crises, and revitalize local areas through growth and distribution with an eye toward a post-COVID society.
In April 2022, the "Crude Oil and Other Price Rise Response Budget During the COVID-19 Pandemic" was established in order to reduce the burden on consumers and businesses affected by rising prices, including crude oil prices and electricity and gas rates, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, in 2022, the "Local Grants for Priority Support for Rising Prices of Electricity, Gas, Food, etc." was established to further strengthen measures while reviewing the system to make it more focused and effective use of the efforts of local governments to provide necessary support tailored to local conditions to consumers and businesses affected by price hikes in energy, food, etc., and in 2023, the "Local Grants for Priority Support for Rising Prices of Electricity, Gas, Food, etc." was increased and a "Low-Income Household Support Framework" was put in place to support low-income households.
