What is Takeo Arishima Youth Public Art Exhibition?
Takeshi Arishima was a representative of the Shirakaba school, and formed art loyalty association "Kuroyuri-kai" in Sapporo during the Meiji Period, and as a pioneer of modern painting in Hokkaido, it had a great influence on the backward movement.
The purpose of this project is to provide a place for creative presentation widely to young people who have innate creativity and to inherit the intention of Arima's art promotion.

About the Application
Rules for who can submit works
Auctioning qualification
Junior high school and high school students and those of the corresponding age
*Excluding elementary school students, university students, junior college students, etc.

Works that can be exhibited
Oil painting, watercolor painting, print, acrylic painting, design drawing, illustration, manga (one scene), digital art, mixed media, and other two-dimensional works (up to size 50, thickness of work up to 120 mm, weight of work up to 5 kg, framing and hanging equipment required)
Number of submissions
1 point per person
*Works that have been exhibited at other public exhibitions cannot be submitted. If such a case is discovered later, the award or selection will be cancelled.

・Expenses relating to the delivery and removal of works will be borne by the exhibitor.
・Works without hanging cords will be disqualified.
・It is not possible to raise objections to the exhibition or remove works before the removal date.
・Artworks may be removed from their frames in order to take photographs for the catalogue.
・We will take great care in storing and managing the artworks, but the museum will not be held responsible for any accidental damage or loss.
・Sellers' personal information will be handled appropriately in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
・有島武郎賞受賞作は翌年発行の「有島武郎青少年文学賞作品集」(北海道新聞社発行)の表紙に掲載されます。
・A booklet containing photos of the winning/selected works and the names of the winning/selected artists and their works will be presented to the prizewinners as a supplementary prize. Data from the booklet will also be made available on Arishima Takeo Memorial Museum website.

About the Awards and Selections
Prizes and Awards
The judging committee will select the winning works, and the following prizes will be awarded to the outstanding works (in descending order):
Takeo Arishima Award (1 person), Governor of Hokkaido Award (1 person), Hokkaido Superintendent of Education Award (1 person), Niseko Town Award (1 person), Niseko Town Superintendent of Education Award (1 person), Hokkaido Shimbun Award (1 person), Special Jury Award (5 people), Encouragement Award (15 people)
The top six winners will receive book vouchers from the Hokkaido Shimbun Press, and additional prizes and commemorative gifts from Niseko Town.

Catalogue of Award-winning and Selected Works
The winners will be presented with a booklet containing photos of their winning works as well as the names of the winning and selected artists and their works as a prize. The booklet data will also be made public at the link below.
Award ceremony and review session
Held at Arishima Takeo Memorial Museum on Monday, November 3, 2025 (national holiday) from 13:00
At the award ceremony, the judges will comment on the winning and selected works.
