We are launching "Saiko Niseko," a locally owned media outlet that will share the real charm of the region!

Important Notice

Niseko Town in Hokkaido is launching "Saiko Niseko," an owned media outlet that will communicate the real charms of the region to people both inside and outside the town.

This media will differentiate itself from traditional tourist guides by focusing on the people who live, work, and have moved to Niseko Town, and will introduce the lifestyles, challenges, and scenery of the town throughout the seasons.

The Niseko Tourism Area, including Niseko Town, offers domestic and international travelers a unique stay experience through its world-class natural environment, diverse activities, and sophisticated services. At the same time, the area is being developed to allow local residents to feel close to diverse interactions, culture, and industry.

However, in recent years, with the expansion of inbound demand, the image of Niseko as a "luxury resort" has taken precedence, and the true charm and daily life of Niseko Town are not being adequately conveyed.

In this context, Niseko Town has launched its own media outlet, "Saiko Niseko," as a new initiative to promote the town's attractions from the perspective of those who live in the area and those involved.

"Saiko Niseko" will continue to provide content as a media outlet that carefully conveys the true nature of the town, such as its "cheap and beloved shops" and "local culture," through messages from "Niseko people" in various positions, including townspeople, visitors, and immigrants.

○ Main content examples
・NISEKO PEOPLE: Interviews with people active in the Niseko area
・Seasonal News: Life and natural scenery throughout the year
・Local gourmet introduction: Restaurants recommended by locals and everyday flavors
・Voices of immigrants: Stories of people who were attracted to Niseko

▶ In the future, we will work together with events and initiatives in the town and the Niseko area,
We will provide a wide range of information that will lead to tourism, immigration, and the creation of a related population.

The local community FM station, Radio Niseko, also broadcasts the program every Saturday from 8:30.
We will be broadcasting a program called "Saiko Niseko Hour" in conjunction with Saiko Niseko.
(First broadcast date: December 6th)
