(tentative name) Niseko Town Efforts to formulate building guidelines (Details of efforts up to 2022 (FY2022))

Niseko Town has established various rules based on the Niseko Town Basic Ordinance for Town Development, which serves as the town development constitution, in order to maintain valuable local resources such as the natural environment, living environment, and rural landscape into the future.
In order to maintain the beautiful scenery in the future, the "Niseko Town Landscape Ordinance" was enacted in 2004. Since then, whenever there is a plan for a large-scale construction or development, we have created a landscape while deepening mutual understanding between the business operator and the people of the area through briefing sessions for residents.
In 2009, we designated quasi-city planning areas, landscape districts, and restricted areas for specific uses to create better landscapes.
However, in recent years, there has been an increase in complex construction and development plans in each region, including large-scale development projects that have never existed before. It's becoming
Therefore, in Niseko Town, in order to create better landscapes in the future, we are considering formulating architectural guidelines that set goals, policies, standards, etc. for landscape formation for the entire town and for each region.

[Implemented 2022] (tentative name) Architectural Guideline Development Project

In 2022), in order to formulate the guidelines, we conducted landscape workshops and surveys by district to create specific proposals that would serve as the basis for the architectural guidelines. We compiled the results and created a draft for 2023).
In addition to formulating the guidelines, we also sorted out the relationship and positioning of various ordinances, such as Landscape Ordinance and the groundwater conservation ordinance, and considered how to operate the guidelines to make effective use of them.
Based on these studies, we plan to establish guidelines in the 2023 fiscal year (FY2023).

The results of the district-specific landscape workshops and questionnaires are as follows.

We held scenery workshop according to district

2022 (FY2022), we held an event to exchange opinions with residents in each district in formulating the guidelines.
We will discuss with everyone living in each district about their thoughts and ideas about the local scenery that we want to cherish in the future. We will proceed with examinations to establish standards.
