Niseko Town has signed the COP26 "Glasgow Declaration"!

On November 2, Niseko Town signed the "Glasgow Declaration", an initiative led by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the tourism field.

1. Contents of the draft declaration
"The transition to zero emissions by 2050 will embrace sustainable consumption and production in the recovery of tourism, redefining not only economic value but also success for the future, ecosystems, biodiversity, It will be possible by considering the regeneration of the community. "
The signing entity is required to present a concrete activity policy within 12 months after signing.
 
2. Signing process
The signature itself can be done by any entity in the tourism sector via the online form. (State, local government, organization, business operator)
Niseko Town was solicited for signature through the international sustainable tourism certification body "Green Destinations" in response to the efforts of Niseko Town for climate change countermeasures and sustainable tourism. ..
 
3. Respond to specific activity policies within 12 months after signing
Niseko Town 's various climate change countermeasures have included tourism, and for the time being, we will implement, monitor, and publicize these policies.
