<12/12 held: Town development townsman course> Forest and nature to think from growing up and learning

Forests have many functions such as water source, soil, conservation of biodiversity, provision of recreational space, and prevention of global warming. As a premise, it is necessary that forests are maintained and managed soundly through the use of timber, and that forest resources are used cyclically. Forests are also an important local resource that occupies 67% of the total area of Niseko Town, but there are many things that we do not know what is going on.
So far, in the first (192nd) townsman course, Mr. Takemoto of Tobimushi Co., Ltd. talked about the connection between local life and landscape and forest resources, and in the second (194th), Japan Research Institute, Limited. Mr. Motani of the Japan Research Institute talked about local production for local consumption and economic circulation in the region from the perspective of regional development and population issues.
This time, we will welcome Mr. Nobuhiko Takeuchi, the superintendent of education in Ikeda Town, Nagano Prefecture, who is making efforts to promote natural childcare, and talk about education and childcare utilizing natural spaces such as forests. In the second half, I would like to discuss with you how to interact with forests from an educational perspective through a dialogue with Mr. Takemoto.
Participation is free and no application is required. In addition, we will provide childcare, so please apply in advance if you wish. We look forward to your participation.
