Request to conserve water in Niseko and Soga areas

Notice

The Niseko and Soga areas mainly use spring water for tap water, but the amount of spring water is currently decreasing. This could be due to a decrease in precipitation last summer. Especially in the Niseko area, the water volume is less than 40% of the average year.
For the current shortage of water, we are pumping well water installed next to the Niseko area reservoir and distributing it. However, the water level of the well water is gradually decreasing, and the well water source may wither if the water is used in the same manner as it is now.
For that reason, we ask everyone who uses town water supply in the Niseko and Soga districts to take measures to save water.

Water saving example) ・ Close the faucet frequently when brushing your teeth or washing your hands.
・ When washing dishes, pour water in the wash tub and wash.
・ In a family with many families, take a bath at a united time

We apologize for any inconvenience, but please cooperate in saving water until the end of the normal drought season in early April.
If you have any questions, please contact Niseko Town government office water and sewage section.
