-Regarding the Hokkaido Nuclear Disaster Prevention Comprehensive Training for Fiscal Year 2026 (Reiwa 8)
Important Notice
This is an announcement from General Affairs Division of Niseko Town Hall regarding the Hokkaido Nuclear Disaster Prevention Comprehensive Training.
This year, Niseko Town will once again host the "Comprehensive Nuclear Disaster Prevention Drill," co-sponsored by Hokkaido Prefecture and 13 other towns and villages.
The purpose of nuclear disaster prevention drills is to improve disaster prevention technology so that relevant organizations can cooperate to smoothly implement nuclear disaster prevention measures, as well as to raise disaster prevention awareness among local residents and promote understanding of disaster prevention measures.
The event is scheduled to take place over three days, from Friday, November 6th to Sunday, November 8th, 2026.
Friday, the 6thWith the participation of "Niseko Konbu Onsen Tsuruga Bessou Mokunosho," we will be conducting an "Evacuation Guidance Drill for Foreign Tourists."
Saturday, the 7thThis involves conducting public relations training and radiation level measurement training in the event of a nuclear disaster.
Sunday, the 8thAs part of the resident evacuation drill, the procedure for the evacuation exit inspection, which will be conducted before heading to an evacuation facility in the event that evacuation outside the town becomes necessary due to a nuclear disaster, will be practiced.
During this training period, we will be broadcasting interruptions to Radio Niseko and disseminating information on our website and various social media platforms. We will also be conducting patrols with publicity vehicles, operating evacuation buses, and measuring radiation levels. Please note that this is a training exercise and do not take it as a genuine event.
Depending on the situation, training may be cancelled.
