Regarding the subsidy program for summer living support and heatstroke prevention expenses for elderly households, etc. (a program to address rising prices)
Important Notice
In response to the recent surge in prices, Niseko Town will provide subsidies to elderly households, single-parent households, households with disabilities, and households receiving public assistance, among other households exempt from resident tax, as a form of support for living expenses during the summer.
■Eligible Households [Reference Date: May 1, 2026]
Those who are registered as residents of Niseko Town as of the reference date,
Households that are exempt from resident tax in 2025 or are subject only to the flat-rate portion of resident tax, and that fall under any of the following categories.
(1) Elderly households: Households consisting only of elderly people aged 65 or over
(2) Single-parent households... Single-parent households that are raising children under the age of 18.
(3) Households with disabled persons: Households that include a person who possesses a physical disability certificate, mental health disability certificate, or intellectual disability certificate.
(4) Households receiving public assistance: Households receiving assistance through public assistance.
*Those who do not possess any type of disability certificate but receive disability pension are also eligible.
■ Amount of payment
20,000 yen per household
■About applications
In early June, we sent out "Payment Notices" to households that the town confirmed met the eligibility requirements.
Households that have received a notification do not need to apply.
Those who need to apply
- Households that are not registered as residents of Niseko Town as of January 1, 2025
- Households in Niseko Town that are not aware of the possession of a physical disability certificate, etc.
- Households where a person does not possess any type of disability certificate but receives a disability pension.
Households that appear to be eligible for the payment but have not received a "Payment Notification" will need to apply.
