A nationwide emergency alert system (J-Alert) information transmission drill will be conducted today (February 6th) starting at 11:00 AM. Radio Niseko's receiver also functions as a disaster prevention administrative radio system, so during the drill, the radio will automatically activate and broadcast a test message at a high volume for approximately two minutes. After the drill is complete, the radio will automatically turn off. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
The nationwide instant warning system (J-Alert) is a system that instantly transmits information from the government to residents via disaster prevention radio and other means regarding situations where there is no time to react, such as the issuance of a major tsunami warning or the arrival of a ballistic missile.
