After the low pressure passes through the Shiribeshi region, including Niseko Town, heavy snow and blizzards due to winter pressure patterns are expected today (26th) and tomorrow (27th) as follows:

Poor visibility and snowdrifts due to blizzards, snow accumulation on mountain passes and in mountainous areas, and flying debris and fallen trees due to strong winds and gusts are expected.
[Weather conditions]
Snow began falling in the Shiribeshi region late yesterday (25th) and will continue intermittently until tomorrow (27th). The snowfall and winds are expected to intensify, peaking from mid-afternoon to this evening (26th).

The amount of snow expected to fall between today (26th) and tomorrow (27th) is expected to be 50 to 70 centimeters in areas around Mt. Yotei, Otaru, and the Shakotan Peninsula. The Shiribeshi region as a whole is expected to receive 30 to 50 centimeters of snow.
The peak of snowfall is expected to occur from mid-afternoon to early evening today (26th), with around 5 to 10 centimetres falling per hour.

Today (26th), winds are expected to shift from the north to the west around noon, reaching speeds of around 8 to 12 meters per second.
In areas where winds are strong, such as along the coast or near mountain passes, there will be times when wind speeds will increase to about 12 to 15 meters per second.
Tomorrow (27th), strong winds of 8 to 12 meters per second are expected from the west in areas along the coast and near mountain passes.
