Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters B.B. promotes the charms of Niseko Town!
Topic of town
The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters mascot, B.B., interacted with local residents while experiencing Niseko Town and promoting the town's attractions through "The HOME - B.B. Mirai Taishi Project." In order to fully convey the charms of Niseko Town, activities were held in Niseko Town from October 21st to 22nd and December 11th to 12th.
During the October visit, the children were introduced to the town's hot springs and had the opportunity to make jack-o'-lanterns.
To introduce the hot springs, we visited Niseko Grand Hotel and Ikoi no Yuyado Iroha to learn about the characteristics and appeal of the spring water. We also had the opportunity to actually see the baths at each facility.
The Jack-o'-lantern project involved creating lanterns of various designs together with local revitalization volunteers and residents of the central district. The three completed lanterns were displayed around Niseko Station until early November, livening up Halloween in Niseko Town.
During our visit in December, we were introduced to the town's ski resorts and pensions, and also participated in a rice cake pounding event Yoji Centre.
For the introduction to ski resorts, the students visited Niseko Annupuri International Ski Resort and Niseko Village Ski Resort, where they enjoyed skiing down the powder snow slopes.
The introduction of pensions involved visiting three facilities in the town and interviewing the charms of each facility, including their unique features and delicious cuisine. In recent years, Niseko Town has had an image of being "expensive," but the reporter introduced the unique charms of pensions where you can relax at a low price.
At the Mochitsuki event Yoji Centre, they watched and cheered on the children and teachers as they pounded the rice cakes. B.B. also tried his hand at pounding rice cakes, showing off his powerful technique in time with the children's cheers. He also played piano accompaniment to the children's song "Oshogatsu" and enjoyed a session with the children.
