Niseko Town 's avalanche prevention efforts will be introduced at the "33rd Lecture: Protecting Yourself from Avalanches" to be held at Hokkaido University (Sapporo) on Saturday, October 25th, 2025.
This lecture aims to widely share the latest knowledge and efforts to protect people from avalanches. Researchers, mountain guides, and disaster prevention professionals from both within and outside Hokkaido will participate and exchange practical information.
Niseko Town, a region visited by many tourists from both Japan and overseas, is promoting avalanche prevention measures to ensure that visitors can enjoy the winter nature safely and securely. At this lecture, the town's efforts and experiences will be introduced and shared with stakeholders from all over the country.
