"Let's protect the radio wave environment in the Niseko area" briefing session

Notice

Some wireless devices brought by skiers from abroad do not meet Japanese technical standards (those without the technical conformity mark). If used, they may threaten the lives of local residents by interfering with television broadcasts and important wireless communications.
The Hokkaido Regional Bureau of Telecommunications monitors radio waves to ensure a safe and secure radio environment, and has confirmed communications using radio devices that comply with foreign standards once again this season.
In order to reduce the use of these radio devices, METI will hold an explanatory meeting for those involved in the tourism industry and others regarding the impact that foreign-standard radio devices have on the lives of local residents and activities to raise awareness among tourists and other participants.
