Amendments to the Childcare and Family Care Leave Act: Phased implementation from April 1, 2025

On May 31, 2024, the Act to partially amend the Childcare Leave, Family Care Leave, etc. Act on the Welfare of Workers Who Take Care of Children or Other Family Members and the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support the Development of the Next Generation (Childcare and Family Care Leave Act) was revised.

The main points of the revision are as follows:
1. Expansion of measures to realize flexible working styles according to the age of children
2. Expanding the obligation to disclose information on the status of childcare leave taken and promoting and strengthening measures to support the development of the next generation
3. Strengthening support systems for balancing work and caregiving to prevent employees from leaving their jobs to care for family members

　育児・介護休業法及び次世代育成支援対策推進法が改正され、令和7年4月1日から段階的に施行されることに伴い、 厚生労働省北海道労働局と道の共催で道内4圏域（札幌、函館、旭川、帯広）において説明会を実施しますのでお知らせします。
