Provision of information on individuals involved in the recruitment of SDF personnel

The recruitment of Self-Defense Force members is defined as a statutory entrusted task of municipalities, and the Self-Defense Forces Act and its Enforcement Order state that "the Minister of Defense may request mayors of municipalities to submit necessary reports or materials."
Additionally, under the Personal Information Protection Act and the Basic Resident Register Act, this is considered appropriate provision of information.
This year again, we have received a request from the Chief of the Self-Defense Forces Sapporo Regional Cooperation Headquarters, and will provide the Self-Defense Forces with information on eligible residents aged 18 and 22 (address, name, gender, date of birth).
The information you provide will not be used for any purpose other than recruitment.

Born between April 2, 2006 and April 1, 2007
