Training publicity from Niseko Town
Today, October 25, 2023, the Hokkaido Nuclear Emergency Preparedness Training is being held, and Niseko Town is also participating in the training.

At 9:30 a.m., the reactor could no longer be cooled due to a failure in the cooling equipment at Unit 3 of the Tomari Nuclear Power Station, and the Prime Minister declared a state of nuclear emergency. We would like to inform the town's residents.

If you are a resident of Niseko Town, please return to your home immediately.
If you are in Niseko Town for sightseeing or work, please evacuate to a nearby building immediately.
Please stay indoors until you receive notification from Niseko Town Hall that the evacuation has been lifted.
While evacuating, close all windows, turn off ventilation fans, etc. to prevent outside air from coming in, and move away from windows.
Detailed information will be posted on Radio Niseko 76.2MHz, Niseko Town website, and various SNS as needed.

We will keep you informed as the situation changes.
At present, there is no release of radioactive substances, so please be calm and do not act on rumors or speculation.
