Please be careful of bears.

Notice

The nature of Niseko is very attractive, but in order not to encounter bears,
Please be aware of the following when enjoying the mountain.

・ Wear prominent clothes and do not act alone
・ Do not enter the mountains at night during dim hours
・Keep an eye on your surroundings by making sounds, such as carrying a bell or radio.
・ Be sure to bring back food and garbage
(Trash will attract bears, so be sure to take it home.)
・Turn back as soon as you find bear droppings, footprints, or food marks.
・Don't enter places where there is a "Kuma Haunting" sign.
・Even if you find a bear cub, never approach it and leave the place.
(It's dangerous because the mother bear may be nearby.)
・If you find a carcass of a Yezo deer, etc., it is possible that the bear was eating it, so move away immediately.

*On July 27th, August 7th, and August 20th, there were reports of bear-like sightings near the Niseko Iwaonupuri Mountain Trail.

Everyone please be careful and enjoy nature!
