A “scale” must always be accurate. However, long-term use can lead to errors.
Therefore, the Measurement Law (Article 19) requires that scales used for transactions and certifications undergo regular inspections once every two years.

If you are not able to take the inspection in town, you will have to take it to the nearest inspection venue or the Hokkaido Measurement and Inspection Institute as soon as possible to have it undergo a regular inspection. *There is also a substitute inspection system in which a substitute inspection is requested to a weigher who has submitted a substitute inspection work notification to Hokkaido.
