Jobs & Volunteering
Regarding the revision of the admission fee for Arishima Takeo Memorial Museum, we have published a draft ordinance in accordance with Article 54 of Niseko Town Basic Ordinance for Town Development and are seeking public feedback.
1. Revision details
(1) Setting admission fees for special exhibitions
・In addition to the current general admission fee of 500 yen and group admission fee of 400 yen, a separate fee will be charged for special exhibitions.
・The fee for special exhibitions will be set at 2,000 yen or less depending on the content of the special exhibition.
(Basically, the special exhibition fee is expected to be 100 yen)
(2) Annual Passport Price Changes
・Passport fees will be increased from 800 yen to 1,200 yen.
・The validity period of your passport will be changed from valid within the fiscal year to valid for one year (until the end of the month of purchase in the following year).
(3) Expanding admission fee exemptions for young people
- What was previously free for junior high school students and younger will now be expanded to include high school students.
2. Revision period
From April 1, 2026
3. Reasons for revision
(1) Improving business profits
・At Arishima Takeo Memorial Museum, the rate of business revenue is declining due to rising property costs, etc. We will increase revenue by charging fees for special exhibitions and revising our annual passport system, and work to provide more attractive exhibitions and enhance our programs.
(2) Expanding the penetration of Arishima culture among younger generations
・We will promote understanding among young people in order to spread and expand Arishima culture, which is the foundation of Niseko Town 's basic urban development philosophy.
