Purpose of planning

Based on the nuclear accident at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, nuclear safety regulations are being revised and strengthened in the country. As a fundamental review of nuclear disaster prevention, the Special Measures Law for Nuclear Emergency Preparedness (hereinafter referred to as "Natural Disaster Act") is revised, revision of the basic plan for disaster prevention, statutoryization of nuclear disaster countermeasure guidelines, etc. will be carried out.
In the "Nuclear Emergency Response Guidelines" established by the "Nuclear Regulatory Commission" established in the country, there will be areas (PAZ) for preparing preventive protective measures and areas (UPZ) for preparing emergency protective measures. At this stage, the range of UPZ is supposed to be about 30 km from the nuclear power plant, but based on the result of 'diffusion simulation of radioactive material' conducted by the country etc in the future, Hokkaido will analyze, We will decide the scope and delineation of UPZ concerning places.

Nuclear Emergency Preparedness Plan
