When you feel like that, reset your body and mind in the hot springs in town, which are rich in quality water! Rediscover the charm of the town's hot springs, refresh yourself in the hot springs, and welcome the summer in good health.
How Niseko became a "hot spring town"
Niseko Onsenkyo is a group of hot springs scattered across Niseko Town and Rankoshi.
Its history dates back more than 100 years ago, during the Meiji period, when sulfur mining began around Iwaonupuri.
At the time, sulfur mining was very active and many mining companies were established, bringing prosperity to the area around Iwaonupuri. In 1904, the railway line was opened, which led to an increase in people coming and going, and the many hot springs discovered in the area began to attract attention. At the time, fishermen who had just finished fishing for herring and hunters walking in the winter mountains would come to enjoy the hot springs.
Skiing was introduced to Japan in 1911. Prince Chichibu visited Annupuri and Chisenupuri to ski in 1928. This led to the skiing and hot springs of the Niseko mountain range becoming widely known.
After that, various hot springs opened around Iwaonupuri. In 1937, "Niseko Mountain House" opened in Goshiki Onsen, and it became popular with people who enjoyed skiing, mountain climbing, and exploring the marshes. On November 1, 1958, it was designated as a national hot spring resort, and many people who were attracted by the characteristics and charm of each hot spring have been using it.
What is a national hot spring resort?
In order to promote the public use of hot springs, the Minister of the Environment designates hot spring areas that are expected to have sufficient benefits from hot spring use and are used as healthy resort areas based on the Hot Springs Act. 79 hot springs across the country (as of October 2022) that meet standards for spring quality, spring discharge, environment, etc. have been designated as national hot spring resort areas.

Hot spring hopping is a sport!
Niseko Tourism Area Hot Spring Ambassador and Hot Spring Sommelier Master
Tsutomu Sato
When I used to run a guesthouse for solo travelers, I used to take my guests to hot springs every day, which led me to organize a hot spring tour of the Niseko area as part of the Niseko Festival program in 2007. This experience made me want to properly convey the professional explanations and appeal of hot springs to my guests, which led to my current activities.
Currently, as a hot spring sommelier instructor, I hold hot spring sommelier certification seminars about five times a year throughout Hokkaido, where I give lectures on basic knowledge of hot springs and proper bathing methods, etc. I also convey the history and charm of Niseko Hot Springs to students who visit on school trips and training trips, and hold health lectures in local governments in Hokkaido.
The charm of Niseko Onsenkyo
Niseko Onsenkyo is blessed with an abundance of hot water, which is its charm. Many facilities offer hot water straight from the source, so you can enjoy fresh, fresh water as it flows from the source. In the entire Niseko area, about 10,000 liters of hot water gushes out per minute.
In addition, there are many different types of springs, and basically all of them contain springs that are good for beauty. Among them, Niseko Grand Hotel has a particularly large number of springs that are good for beauty. The smooth feeling you get after bathing is very noticeable, and this feeling lasts for 2 to 3 days.
Recommended ways to enjoy hot springs and sightseeing
Niseko has a lot of delicious ingredients, so we recommend eating food produced in Niseko Town, relaxing in the hot springs while looking out at Mt. Yotei, and refreshing yourself from the inside out!
Traveling is a great way to change your mood and regulate your autonomic nervous system. In addition to visiting hot springs, I hope you will experience the activities and food that are unique to Niseko Town and fully enjoy what you can enjoy in Niseko Town.
What is a hot spring sommelier?
It originated in Akakura Onsen in Myoko Kogen Onsenkyo, Niigata Prefecture, in 2002. It is a certification qualification sponsored by the Hot Spring Sommelier Association. Those who have attended the "Hot Spring Sommelier Certification Seminar (about half a day)" or the "Hot Spring Sommelier Certification Tour (one night, two days)" and learned the basics of hot springs and the correct way to bathe can be certified.
Currently, approximately 30,000 people across the country are certified as hot spring sommeliers.

To preserve "hot springs" and "architecture" for future generations
Niseko Tourism Area Hot Spring Ambassador and Hot Spring Sommelier Ambassador
Kaoru Mukoda
I have been working as a hot spring sommelier for over 10 years. In 2014, I launched the "Niseko Hot Spring Club" to promote hot springs in the Niseko area, and have run a stamp rally called "Yumeguri Master" and held a hot spring sommelier certification seminar together with Tom.
In addition, I have experience working at a design firm specializing in traditional architecture. In my life planning, I wanted to combine my identity of "hot springs" and "architecture" into my life's work, and I am currently working as a "historical architecture hot spring expert."
In the future, we would like to promote the appeal of hot spring inns that are designated as registered tangible cultural properties across the country, and help preserve them for future generations.
The charm of Niseko Onsenkyo
The appeal of Niseko Onsenkyo is that it has a wide variety of spring qualities in a small area. There are also both resort hot springs and secluded hot springs, and the variety of facilities is rich, so you can choose a hot spring facility depending on your purpose and mood.

The town publishes its financial status twice a year (June 1st and December 1st). This time, we will publish the financial status for the second half of fiscal year 2024 (as of March 31st).
The final budget for the general account was 8,262,080,000 yen, an increase of 1,661,200,000 yen from the previous year.
Major large-scale public works projects include the fire department building redevelopment project, Niseko High School dormitory development project, new housing complex development project, Miyata district drainage pipe renewal project, Kutchan Kosei Hospital second phase development cost burden project, town road development and repair projects (Niseko Mirai Dori Town Road Development Project, etc.), and bridge longevity development projects (Hamamoto Bridge, etc.).
In fiscal years 2024 and 2025, we will systematically implement projects such as the redevelopment of the fire station building (construction work), the construction of Niseko High School dormitories, the construction of new housing complexes, the construction of the Niseko Mirai Dori town road (construction work), and the installation of solar power generation facilities at public facilities. We will also work to extend the lifespan and plan the renewal of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and water supply systems.
In addition, grants and fixed tax reduction support projects will also be implemented as carryover projects from fiscal year 2024. The total amount of the carryover budget is 31.07 million yen, and the revenue will be secured through the use of national and prefectural subsidies and the issuance of town bonds.
Going forward, we will continue to thoroughly review our projects, efficiently execute our expenditure budget, and implement necessary measures to maintain and develop the town, while prioritizing projects from a medium- to long-term perspective and implementing planned and balanced financial management in order to reduce future burdens.
Special accounts
Special accounts are set up when it is necessary to separate general revenues and expenditures from general revenues and expenditures in order to carry out specific projects.
Currently, there are four special accounts: National Health Insurance, Medical Care for the Elderly, Simple Water Supply, and Public Sewerage.
The total final budget for the four special sessions was 1.2748 billion yen, a decrease of 66.17 million yen from the previous year.
Major projects in 2024 included the urban area drainage pipe renewal project and the Miyata area drainage pipe renewal project implemented using the Simple Water Supply Business Special Account, and the sewage treatment facility renewal project implemented using the Public Sewerage Business Special Account.
The National Health Insurance Special Account aimed to balance its accounts without utilizing (withdrawing) funds or taking money from the general account.

Welcome to Elementary School! First Grade Welcome Party
A welcome party for the first graders was held at Kondo Elementary School on April 25th and at Niseko Elementary School on May 2nd.
At Kondo Elementary School, each grade introduced unicycles, traditional drums, and teacher profiles. At the end, the sixth graders performed an original play.
They performed the program and conveyed the rules that the students should follow in their school life from now on and the importance of these rules.
At Niseko Elementary School, the second graders will sing the lively school song, and then each grade will have a quiz about school events and rules for school life.
At the end, all the students had a great time playing the "Captain's Orders" game.
The first graders have gotten over the initial tension they felt when they first started school and are getting used to school life. We are all looking forward to their elementary school life from now on.

An introductory French class run by Anna, an international exchange officer (Niseko FRIENDS office) from Belgium, has been held every Wednesday at the town hall since April.
In the lecture on April 30th, after reviewing the grammar and pronunciation learned in the previous lecture, students studied the differences in usage and phrases for expressing the degree of like or dislike.
Participants were paired up and spoke French in a dialogue format, gradually picking up the tips of pronunciation and conversation.

Niseko High School Student Council
Thoughts after half a year
2nd Year President Pirika Kunii
Hello everyone! I'm Pirika Kunii. It's been half a year since we became the student council executive committee. At first, I was worried because it was my first time in the student council, and I often felt frustrated when things didn't go as I expected.
We are currently steadily preparing for the school festival, and at the same time, we are considering revising the school rules regarding makeup and hairstyles. We would like to continue working hard, starting with small things, while being conscious of replacing traditions that have lost their purpose with new ones and creating new traditions.
Last month, a by-election was held, and many first-year students ran for office. I was happy to see the new momentum and flow! With two new members, the Niseko High School Student Council has made a fresh start and will continue to move forward!

Introducing the new members
Introducing the new members who joined in the first half of FY2025!
Kaito Kida (from Sapporo City) Assigned to: Children's Future Division, Children's Future Section
I have been visiting Niseko Town since I was a child and it is a town rich in nature that I love.
Dreaming of a life in the countryside in the future and wanting to live in Niseko Town, I started a new life as a Niseko Town Regional Revitalization Volunteer with the encouragement of a senior from my high school who was also a graduate.
In the Children's Future Division where I am assigned, I work with children in Niseko Town through the Children's Hall and after-school children's classes. In Niseko Town, where I can fully enjoy my hobby of outdoor activities, I would like to participate in various events and enjoy Niseko Town with the local people! In the midst of this, I would like to study and work towards my post-graduation.
Introduction of my assignment
32. Niseko Central Warehouses
2nd year: Saori Nakahara (from Kanagawa Prefecture)
"A thorough cleaning will give you a fresh start"
Last year, we tried various different initiatives, and as a result, we have seen an increase in the number of people visiting the facility, whether it be for remote work, meetings, bringing their children or friends, or just wanting to relax by themselves, which makes all of our staff very happy.
With the new fiscal year upon us, our staff did a major cleaning! We hope to make it an even more pleasant place for everyone to use in the future. Mr. Hirayama has graduated from the Central Warehouses, and now it's just Mr. Saito and myself who are volunteering, but we're keeping it sparkling clean and looking forward to everyone's visits.
We will continue to work with Director Matsuda (a former JOCV member) and the two new managers, Edgestone LLC (a former JOCV member), to keep the facility open with enthusiasm. You can check opening and event information on Instagram! Please take a look! Please follow us!
Overall activity report
April implementation
The appointment ceremony was held on April 1st, and 22 volunteers continued their activities for this term. Mayor Katayama encouraged them to use the volunteer system to achieve their own self-realization, in conjunction with the succession and development of Niseko Town.
Takagi Nanami was appointed as the captain and Ota Kosuke as the vice captain. Other management teams have also replaced members and reviewed their duties to ensure smooth operations. Three new members joined in April and May! Volunteer members are of a wide age range, with different goals and skills, and each is engaged in a variety of activities, including assignments, volunteer work, and self-reliance planning. It is not easy to share a common understanding and carry out volunteer work, but they cooperate with each other while making the most of their individuality.
This year, I will continue to work hard on my duties and create new ideas that will lead to the development of Niseko Town, so I look forward to working with you! (Risa Kamikawauchi)

Spring Cleanup Strategy
Together with local volunteers and town hall staff, the local revitalization cooperation team also participated in the spring clean-up operation, splitting into five areas and picking up trash. They were able to hear old stories from the townspeople and deepened their understanding of the town. It was also a refreshing experience to work while looking at scenery that cannot be seen when passing by in a car. We would like to continue this type of activity in the future to protect the local scenery and ensure that residents and tourists can enjoy a trash-free Niseko Town. (Ota Kosuke)

Spring Walk
It is the season when flowers bloom around the center and on the walking paths, and the fresh green leaves of the trees are dazzling.
Walking in the town is fun, but walking on the ground is especially fun in this season when all kinds of flowers are in bloom. After walking a lot, the children get hungry and you can hear cute conversations like, "I wonder what's for lunch today?"

It's the season when flowers sprout and the new greenery feels dazzling. The other day, I went to Arishima Takeo Memorial Museum with a parent and child who were visiting Ohisama, and we took a walk. It was a little early for the cherry blossoms to be in full bloom, but it was pleasant to be outdoors in the spacious grounds.
It's a pleasant season to enjoy a leisurely walk in the warm weather, finding dandelions and other flowers. Why not try it with your children?

\Hello! / I'm a life support coordinator vol.01
Coordinator Endo
Nice to meet you. My name is Endo and I was assigned to the Niseko Town Social Welfare Council as a life support coordinator from April. In this corner, I will tell you about the efforts to support each other in the community and solve problems.
★What is a life support coordinator?
Also known as "community support promoters," they aim to create a town where people can live safely even as they get older, and help improve mutual support activities among residents and life support. They also support volunteer activities in the community and work to create an environment where elderly people can make use of their past experiences.
★ Background of the system's creation
The year 2025 will see the baby boom generation turn 75 years old or older. The number of elderly people living alone and elderly couples is increasing, and public medical, nursing care, and welfare services alone are no longer sufficient to support their lives at home. Niseko Town is no exception, and it is necessary for residents to further enhance their mutual assistance and support activities in the spirit of mutual aid.
★What is mutual support?
Mutual support is not something exaggerated, but simply means neighbors showing a little concern for each other and helping each other out to the extent they can. Here is an actual example that happened in our town recently. There was a person living alone in front of a housing complex who seemed to be feeling unwell. The neighbors called an ambulance, but the person said they were fine and returned home. The next morning, when the neighbors went to the person's front door, they found the newspaper still there. The door was locked, so they called out to the person through the door, but there was no response. Worried about what had happened the day before, they immediately contacted the town hall and the ambulance, and were able to connect the person to a medical institution. This is a case where the neighbors' watchful eye paid off, and I think it's wonderful.
★Please tell us about your area
Anything is fine, such as "We are helping each other in this way in our neighborhood" or "We are having trouble with this." First, please tell us about your neighborhood. What you take for granted may actually be a treasure (resource) that other neighborhoods do not have. We will visit anywhere in the neighborhood, so please let us know.

★National Health Insurance Tax
Notification of tax payment notice
National Health Insurance is a system in which all members cooperate to cover the necessary medical expenses so that people can receive medical care without worry when they get sick or injured. Taxes vary depending on the household, as they are calculated according to household income and the number of members.
This year's tax notices will be sent out on Thursday, June 12th.
If you have not received it within a week, please contact Tax Division.
Check the amount of tax
National health insurance tax rates are reviewed annually taking into account factors such as medical expenses.
The purpose of this is to ensure stable financial resources in order to address issues such as rising medical expenses and a decrease in the number of subscribers.
Due to the tax rate revision, some households will see a change in the amount of tax paid. Please check your tax payment notice to find out the amount of tax paid.
◎ Children are exempt
Starting in fiscal year 2025, the National Health Insurance Tax (flat rate) for children under the age of 18 will be fully exempted. This initiative is being implemented independently by Niseko Town with the aim of reducing the economic burden on households raising children.
The exemption applies to all children under the age of 18, regardless of household income. The tax amount on the tax notice is already fully exempt, so there is no need to apply for an exemption separately.
◎ If you are having difficulty paying, please contact us.
There is a system for reducing the amount of National Health Insurance tax. If you are having difficulty paying your tax within the due date, please feel free to contact us.

Attorney Tsuchiya's
We will solve your worries!
This month's theme: Food poisoning and damage
My name is Fumie Tsuchiya, and I joined Park Front Law Office in April. I hope to provide you with useful information that will make you think, "Oh, I see."
This winter, Hokkaido has seen a series of incidents of norovirus and other diseases. The theme of this article is food poisoning and the damage it causes.
If a customer suffers from food poisoning due to food served at a restaurant, he or she may be able to claim damages for medical expenses and compensation based on tort.
For example, in a court case where food and drink contained anisakis (a parasite) and customers became infected with anisakiasis, the restaurant manager was found liable for damages for breaching the duty of care (negligence) by failing to discover and eradicate the anisakis, despite being able to do so.
On the other hand, in a case where a customer died of food poisoning after eating yukhoe meat at a yakiniku restaurant, the restaurant manager was found not negligent and was denied liability for damages. The reasoning was that at the time of the incident, before the food poisoning occurred, it could not be said that they should have recognized the specific danger, and even if they had trimmed the meat according to standards set by the government after the incident, it could not be said that the food poisoning could have been avoided. In this way, the key to determining whether or not a claim for damages can be made is whether or not the restaurant or other establishment violated the duty of care.

"Nikotto Bus" will become even more convenient
The demand-responsive bus "Nikotto Bus" operates 365 days a year in the town, handling more than 10,000 reservations every year, and will become even more convenient with the introduction of a new system that utilizes AI.
Change 1
By utilizing AI for reservation and dispatch, we can improve operational efficiency and make buses that can carry more people and be used by many people.
[Notes regarding changes]
・As we work to improve operational efficiency, there will be more opportunities for carpooling. Please be punctual so as not to cause inconvenience to other carpoolers.
・If you have large luggage, please let us know when you make your reservation. You may not be able to board the vehicle due to carpooling or the vehicle being full.
・Please be sure to contact us if you cancel. This will result in poor operational efficiency and inconvenience to other customers.
Change 2
Cashless payment has been introduced, making fare payment smooth and convenient.
[Payment methods available]
・Credit card (VISA, MASTER, JCB, etc.)
・QR code (PayPay, dPay, au Pay, etc.)
・Electronic money (Suica, WAON, nanaco, etc.)
■ Change date: From Monday, June 2nd
Requests and precautions for using "Nikotto Bus"
The "Nikotto Bus" is used by many people, including local residents and tourists, as a means of transportation within the town. It is a shared bus that requires a reservation, not a taxi. For this reason, we operate with the priority of allowing as many people as possible to use the bus, which may mean that reservations cannot be made at the desired time, people have to share the bus, or the route is longer.
Please understand that this is a means of transportation shared by everyone. Please also take note of the following points.
・This is not a taxi service, so please allow yourself plenty of time. If you require a taxi service, please contact a taxi company.
・If you are using JR or bus transfers, please let us know when making your reservation.
・If you wish to change or cancel your reservation, please contact us at least 30 minutes before the reservation time.
・The maximum number of passengers is 8, but if you have large luggage, the number of passengers will be limited. Please be sure to tell us when making your reservation if you have large luggage.
・This bus operates within the town. The Hirafu area and other areas outside the town are not included in the operating area.
・When introducing your vehicle to tourists, please also inform them of the aforementioned features and points of caution. This can cause trouble, especially if they mistake it for a taxi.
How to make a reservation for "Nikotto Bus"
1. Call the reservation center
2. Tell the operator the date of use, boarding point, destination, desired time, number of people, names, and contact information

Management status of general waste final disposal sites
Last year, no crushed non-combustible materials were transported to the final disposal site.
Currently, about 90% of the waste capacity of the landfill has been filled within the landfill site over the 20 years since it began operation, and efforts are underway to close the site.
Currently, the entire amount is disposed of in Kutchan Town.
◎The water used in the disposal site is cleaned and discharged into the river.
At the final disposal site, water is sprinkled to prevent scattering of garbage and to reduce its toxicity.
Sprinkled water is collected in the water treatment facility on the premises, purified, and then discharged into the river. (table 1)
◎The future of final disposal sites
When the final disposal site was first constructed, it was expected to be full by the end of fiscal year 2009. However, due to the trends in landfill volume to date and the cessation of incineration ash delivery due to the conversion of combustible waste into solid fuel, the period of use has been extended (Table 2). As of fiscal year 2018, final disposal has been carried out at a private facility.
To protect the local environment, we ask for your continued cooperation in reducing the amount of non-burnable garbage and oversized garbage and separating recyclable garbage.

"Tsunami flag" is a signal to evacuate
The "Tsunami Flag" is a flag that notifies people that a major tsunami warning, tsunami warning, or tsunami advisory (hereinafter referred to as "tsunami warnings, etc.") has been issued.
Tsunami warnings are transmitted by various means, including television, radio, mobile phones, and sirens, but by using the "Tsunami Flag," it is possible to notify people who are swimming or who have difficulty hearing due to the sound of waves and wind, as well as people with hearing impairments.
As we move into summer, there will be more opportunities to go to the beach to swim etc. If you see a "tsunami flag" at the beach or near the coast, hear a tsunami warning, feel strong shaking, or feel a long, slow shaking, please move away from the coast and evacuate to a high, safe place as soon as possible.

don't burn garbage
This year too, there have been cases where police were called out due to "open burning" - burning garbage on people's property. We have also received many reports of people seeing open burning.
Open burning of garbage creates a foul odor and smoke, which is a nuisance to people living in the surrounding area. Depending on the flame conditions, it can even cause a fire. In addition, low-temperature combustion can produce dioxins, which can have an adverse effect on the human body.
According to the Waste Disposal and Public Cleansing Law, open burning is prohibited in principle, so even if it is a small amount, you should not incinerate garbage on your premises. If you violate this law, you may be subject to "imprisonment of up to five years or a fine of up to 10 million yen, or both."
Dispose of your garbage at the garbage station according to the designated sorting method, and make sure that you do not burn it in the open.

Here are some comments from Niseko Mirai residents!
This time, we will introduce the impressions of people who actually live in Niseko Mirai homes! We spoke to two people who live in Niseko Mirai's first rental home, Mokuras Niseko Building A.
First, there is Mr. A, who moved within Niseko Town.
"It's good that all the rooms are the same temperature. Previously, my feet would get cold when I got into bed, so I used to bring a hot water bottle with me, but now I can sleep without it, which is great," he said. He also commented that, since he used to live in a detached house, he had to clear the snow that fell from the roof, but now he doesn't have to do that work himself, which has lightened his burden.
Next is Mr. B, who moved from outside Niseko Town.
"The specifications are similar to the apartment I lived in in the Tokyo metropolitan area for many years, so I feel it's very comfortable to live here. I'm also happy that there is a lot of storage space." In addition, the monthly fixed utility bills are set at a reasonable amount, and since there is a lump-sum contract with Niseko Town, it was also good that there was no need to apply for each one individually.
At Mokuras Niseko Building A, the town of Niseko takes care of the common areas, such as snow removal and grass cutting, and also handles the procedures for services necessary for daily life, so residents can live with peace of mind in these areas as well. The couple are also very interested in the events held at Niseko Mirai, and said, "We're looking forward to interacting with the neighbors in the future."

Riko Sasaki's Claire Paris Report vol.01
Hello everyone. My name is Sasaki and I am currently working at the CLAIR Paris office!
The Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR), where I work, is an organization that, as its name suggests, works to internationalize Japanese local governments. For example, it is involved in a variety of projects, such as recruiting and dispatching CIRs and ALTs, which are active in Niseko Town, partnering with sister cities, developing overseas sales channels for local specialties, and promoting multicultural coexistence in local governments.
In 2024, I worked in the Multicultural Coexistence Division at the Tokyo headquarters for a year, learning about creating an environment where foreigners living in Japan can live comfortably and disaster prevention measures for foreigners. From this year for two years, I will be involved in planning and managing an exhibition of Japanese crafts at the Paris office and editing the newsletter, "Local Government Internationalization Forum"!
Living in Tokyo and Paris, two places that could be considered the centers of the world, I miss the beautiful and clean air of Niseko Town, because the air in Paris is really polluted!
The reason is that smoking on the street is allowed. While smoking indoors is prohibited by law, just like in Japan, Parisians and even tourists smoke outdoors. The sidewalks in the city are narrow, so it is impossible to escape second-hand smoke. I hope to avoid any health damage in these two years and return to Niseko Town in good health.
Since last year, we have been considering how to develop a community school that will nurture "children who learn in Niseko and love Niseko." Based on the following four points, we have reviewed the organizational chart and regulations.
Main points of the review
(1) Term of office of committee members
Before: From early June to the end of May
After change: April 1st to March 31st
The previous term of the committee members was to expire at the end of May, so the start of the new system was delayed by two months.
By changing this to March 31st, we will be able to align with the new school year and provide early consultation and action.
(2) Requests from committee members
We decided to ask each school to individually ask someone to work with us to develop the school. This will increase the sense of ownership and allow them to proactively participate in school management. In addition, about half of the committee members are new, and we hope they will bring new perspectives and networks.
On April 23rd, Niseko Town Community Schools general meeting for the 2025 fiscal year was held, and the basic policy of each school was approved, with the understanding that local residents and families share the responsibility. After the general meeting, lively exchanges of opinions were held at each table, and we are seeing gradual changes in the efforts, such as the schedule adjustments for the first management council at several schools. As the secretariat, we would like to fully support these movements.

French Classes
We are running an "Introduction to French" class for three months from April to July.
In this class, we aim to acquire the basics of French through practicing listening and speaking in real conversations while thoroughly studying French pronunciation and basic grammar. In addition, our teacher Anna, who is from Belgium, will introduce the language and the cultural diversity of French-speaking countries.
In addition, local residents who can already speak French have volunteered to participate in the classes, helping to create an environment that is conducive to learning. We look forward to your continued support over the remaining month.
Contract results The contract results are posted on Niseko Town official website.
Nice to meet you. I look forward to meeting you.

Living with hot springs
During the Taisho and Showa eras, Niseko Konbu Onsen was popular in Hokkaido as a hot spring resort and health resort, and was visited by many members of the Imperial family, including Prince Chichibu. In addition to the large hot spring inns Momijidani, Aoyama, Koikawa, and Fuji Kanko and the Niseko Kanko Hotel, Konbu Onsen was also home to restaurants such as Buncho, Marutomo, and Kikuya, and I remember it being always bustling on weekends when I was in elementary school.
In 1954, the Emperor stayed at what is now the Niseko Grand Hotel, and described the water he drank in his room as "nectar," which became a local topic of conversation. In 1958, Konbu-Yumoto Onsen was designated by the government as a "national hot spring resort" as a "model hot spring area that can be used safely by the public." Let's be grateful for the hot springs in our area and cherish them.

Spring has come to the Central Warehouse area!
Hello, I'm Matsuda, the director of Niseko Central Warehouses.
Starting this April, the designated manager of our facility has changed from Sumairu Niseko Co., Ltd. to Edgestone LLC. Although the structure has changed, we will continue to operate the Central Warehouse Complex as "your place."
The snow has melted completely around Niseko Station, and spring scenery is spreading. In Sakuragaoka Park, the dogtooth violets are blooming beautifully, making it a perfect place for a walk on a sunny day. The square in front of the central warehouses is also an open space that anyone can use freely, so please feel free to spend some time there.
We would also like to thank the many people who used our facilities in March and April. Starting this year, Niseko Town residents will receive a discount on the use of the "private space." It can be used for a variety of events, such as markets, lectures, and workshops, so if you are interested in using it, please feel free to contact the staff in the facility or via social media. For more information, please see the Central Warehouses website. We look forward to your visit!

Editor's Note
How many people actually read this editor's note?
When I was a reader of the newsletter, the first thing I read was the editor's notes. They touched on the contents of the newsletter or wrote personal things. The contents varied greatly depending on the editor, but I looked forward to this warm place every month, where I could feel the editor's thoughts and personality the most.
I write about things I like relatively freely, which are not so related to the content of the paper, but I suddenly wondered, "What will the readers think when they see this?" It's only now that I've started to think about "writing" an editor's note, so please forgive me for finally writing an editor's note about editor's notes. I will continue to write them, so that someday someone will come along who looks forward to reading them. (Ma)
