In Niseko Town, about 150 farmers produce various agricultural products such as rice and potatoes.
Agricultural products harvested in the town are shipped not only in Hokkaido but also all over the country, and are enjoyed by many people.
The total planted area of the 10 major crops in FY2021 was 1288 33ha, with paddy rice having the highest proportion among the 10 major crops.
In recent years, the area planted with potatoes has been decreasing, while the area planted with vegetables, especially broccoli, has been increasing.

Major large-scale public projects include the fire department building redevelopment project, the Soga district water pipe renewal project, the Kutchan Kosei Hospital Phase 2 development cost sharing project, the learning exchange center life extension project, and the public housing improvement project (Chuo Danchi). , Town road maintenance and renovation project (Niseko station front sidewalk maintenance
etc.), and a project to extend the service life of bridges (Moiwa Bridge, etc.).
In 2023, we will be systematically implementing projects such as the redevelopment of the fire department building (detailed design), the second phase of development at Kutchan Kosei Hospital, forest road slope repairs, the development of the walkway in front of the town hall (detailed design), and public housing improvements (improvement work on Central Housing Complex Building No. 6).

On April 20, the Board of Education held the 2023 Kotobuki University (elderly class) opening ceremony and the first study session at the townspeople center.
The study session was held for the first time in three years, and 79 students enrolled this year.
At the study session, a "town development round-table conference" was held, and the mayor gave a lecture on the town's efforts.
The students listened intently and actively exchanged opinions after the discussion.

This time, teas from Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia were prepared, and we challenged ourselves to make three types of sweets that go well with these teas.
Participants worked together to make snacks, scones, peanut mochi rice cakes, and Milo balls from each country.
Participants drank delicious tea while enjoying conversation and enjoyed their holiday tea time.

The 46th Shiribeshi Black & White Show was held at Niseko Town Livestock Fairgrounds on April 28th.
This time, a total of 65 dairy cows were exhibited from five municipalities in Shiribeshi and Iburi, and the physique, walking style, and beauty of the appearance of the cows were judged by month and age.
This year's Junior Champion was Yuhei Sato's "Crane Silky Gold" from Date City.

Welcome to elementary school! 1st year party
A meeting was held on April 25th at Kondo Elementary School and on April 28th at Niseko Elementary School to welcome the first graders.
In order for the upper-class students to get to know the elementary school among the new first-year students, they made various presentations with their ingenuity.
At Kondo Elementary School, the first graders entertained the first graders with humorous performances such as introducing the school song, jumping rope and unicycle, playing taiko drums, and creating an original play.

Sustainable Tourism Practice Donation from Niseko Village
At Hilton Niseko Village, we are constantly working on social contribution activities such as reducing food loss and picking up garbage in order to reduce the environmental impact.
This time, the village donated hygiene products to Niseko Living House and HIS for effective use of resources.
This donation was triggered by village staff participating in GSTC training last year.
The House of Life also recycles milk cartons.

In line with the spring fire prevention campaign period from April 20th to April 30th, the Yotei Roku Fire Association Fire Station Niseko Branch held a parade in the town with fire engines to call for fire prevention.

Annual! The season of "opinion presentation competition" has come.
This competition is a competition where you can present your own opinions and thoughts about the questions you have in your daily life and the issues you find.
Preliminary competitions were held for each school year on May 9th and 11th.
The 12 highly rated students will advance to the school competition that will be held later.
In addition, the top three students in the school competition can advance to the South Hokkaido competition, so the representative students are working hard to correct their manuscripts and practice their presentations in a short amount of time.
The power to have your own thoughts and output is the power you need when you go out to society.

Four months have passed in the blink of an eye since I moved to Niseko.
Since I moved here in the winter, the snow has melted and the shops that were not visible in the winter are now visible, and I am enjoying a different view.
I used to enjoy skiing in the winter, but from February I got hooked on boarding and quickly found a new hobby.
I hope I can find a new hobby in the summer too. After moving, I feel that time passes quickly, so while enjoying my first summer, I will move towards becoming independent.

These days, I feel the joy of being able to enjoy Niseko's four seasons throughout the year.
In Niseko Town, where I am assigned, we are making various efforts to solve the problems of the town, such as resolving housing shortages, energy conservation, and community development.
I am mainly in charge of "energy saving".

At the end of March, a Hokkaido University graduate student came to Niseko Town as an intern and the cooperation team was interviewed.

Tax rate of National Health Insurance tax reviews every year to plan adequacy of burden to tax system revision of country.
National Health Insurance tax levels will be unified across Hokkaido in 2020.
This fiscal year, we have confirmed that the burden on insured persons will hardly increase, so we have revised the tax rate to that indicated by Hokkaido.
In addition, the upper limit has been raised and the reductions for low-income earners have been expanded (tax rates for 2023 are as shown in the table below).
Reduction system of National Health Insurance tax
There is a reduction system for low-income earners and a per capita rate for children.
No application is required to receive these reliefs.

Management status of general waste final disposal sites
Last year, we did not carry crushed incombustibles to the final disposal site either.
Currently, about 88% of the landfill capacity has been buried in the disposal site in about 20 years since the start of use.

At the final disposal site, water is sprinkled to prevent scattering of garbage and to reduce its toxicity.
Sprinkled water is collected in the water treatment facility on the premises, purified, and then discharged into the river. (table 1)

The groundbreaking and purification ceremony for Mokureniseko Building A was held!
On April 6th (Thursday), we held a groundbreaking and purification ceremony for Niseko Mirai's house "Mokureniseko A building".

Management status of general waste final disposal sites

2023 Niseko Town National Agricultural Land Reorganization and Development Project Promotion Committee General Meeting and District Promotion Committee were held!
The 2023 general meeting of the preparatory committee was held at the town hall on April 14th.
At the general meeting, 24 people concerned such as guests, representatives and vice-representatives of each district, Otaru Development and Construction Department Shiribeshi Chubu Agricultural Development Office attended, deliberating on the contents of reports and budget proposals from the secretariat and approval it was done.
The Otaru Development and Construction Department, which will be running the project, introduced its staff, explained the project content for 2023, and the future project schedule, and many opinions were exchanged.
District Promotion Committee meetings were held from April 24th to 27th at 4 venues in 8 districts, attended by a total of 35 farmers participating in the project.
At the committee meeting, the secretariat explained the business plan of this year's kinseikai, and the Otaru Development and Construction Department explained the fields where construction and design work will be carried out this year. .
This year marks the ninth year since the construction started, and the Kiseikai will promote the movement even more strongly in preparation for the construction from the next fiscal year onwards.

Wooden swings, benches and tables are installed in the square, just like last year.
Anyone can use the plaza for personal use, no reservation is required.
We do not allow the use of firearms such as BBQs, so please bring a lunch box when eating.
In addition, the steam locomotive (9643) in front of the hotel and the railroad heritage group centered on the former Shintoku locomotive depot turntable were also opened to the public!
When the weather is nice, it's a great place for a walk and a picnic, so please come and visit us.
