Foreign standard radio equipment cannot be used in Japan.

This is an announcement from the Hokkaido General Bureau of Telecommunications, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
Foreign standard radio equipment such as FRS, GMRS, UHF-CB and PRS cannot be used in Japan. There is a risk of interference with important domestic wireless communications and television broadcasts. When using radio equipment in Japan, make sure it has a "Technical Standards Conformity Certification Mark."
