What is a “skilled worker”?

"Skilled worker" is a "title" given to those who have passed the skill test of 130 occupations based on the Vocational Ability Development Promotion Act.
Of these, the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare will issue a passing certificate for "special grade," "1st grade," and "single grade," and for "2nd grade" and "3rd grade," the certificate will be issued by the prefectural governor.

What is a “skill test”?

The skill test is a national certification system that evaluates the level of acquisition of skills that are acquired or required for work, and there are 130 occupational tests in total, such as machining, construction carpentry, and financial planning.
If you pass the exam, you will be issued a certificate and you can call yourself a “skilled worker”.

What is the Hokkaido Technician Association?

The Hokkaido Technician Association (no company) is an organization whose members are technicians and others.
We carry out a wide range of projects, such as holding workshops to improve skills and quality, technical service activities for local residents, and holding skill festivals to familiarize people with skills.
