More than 10 years have passed since the last formulation of the Niseko Town Tourism Promotion Plan, and the situation surrounding tourism has changed significantly. The global epidemic of COVID-19 (January 2020-present) is causing serious damage to the local economy as the country pursues aggressive inbound policies. Not only has the importance of tourism risk management been reaffirmed, but the way tourism itself is at a major turning point.
In the town, we have been studying the tourism promotion vision through the tourism council (held 5 times in total), townspeople lectures, WS, forums, etc. Now that we have compiled the "Niseko Town Tourism Promotion Vision (Draft)", we will make public comments (opinion solicitation) as follows.
