In addition, when deciding how the funds will be used, we will seek opinions from accommodation businesses and town residents, including by holding opinion exchange meetings and setting up an online form to receive feedback.

The accommodation tax for fiscal year 2025 will continue to work on improving local transportation with an eye on measures to combat overtourism, and will also provide subsidies for energy-saving renovations of tourist facilities.

The accommodation tax revenue for fiscal year 2024 was 129,671,000 yen, which was used mainly to improve local transportation, such as operating Niseko Area Circuit Bus and increasing the number of winter taxis.
In addition, as tax revenue for fiscal year 2024 was higher than initially expected, the amount of contributions to the fund has increased, and we will use this in the future for subsidies for energy-saving renovations, further improvement of local transportation, and efforts to attract visitors during the green season.
